In John 8:12 Jesus refers to himself as the Light of the World. Because Christ lives in us we also have that title which Paul points out in Ephesians 5.
The Big Idea – We discover God’s good, pleasing and perfect will for our lives through the renewing of our minds! Romans 12:2 states, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
We’re going to stay in the Gospel of Luke and look at Luke 1:26-38 where Gabriel tells Mary, “Don’t be afraid.” Why did Mary not fear when she received this assignment?
Perspective is important. Our decisions and how we live our lives are based on how we see things. Mary gives us the very first perspective of Christmas in Luke 1:46-55. The main point is proper perspective is not just important, it is everything!!!
We are going to begin a new series titled, “Joyful Christmas.” We’re looking at the Christmas story through the eyes the Gospel writer, Luke. Luke tells us of his purpose in the opening of his Gospel (Luke 1:1-25)

I Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Main Point- Thanksgiving is more than a holiday for the grateful believer, it’s a way of life.
I also want to use the analogy of a wardrobe to help with this concept of putting off the old self and putting on the new self.
