We all know how to “seek” something. It’s as natural as breathing, because our Creator has made us to seek Him.
Why?
Because He is the only thing – the only One – truly worth seeking… and He wants us to seek Him above all else.
During this season of seeking, we will get into the “why” and “how” of what it means to seek God – but for now, I’m going to start us off with a simple request; begin preparing your heart, shifting your perspective away from the typical, the ordinary, the mundane, and toward the holy, the divine, the God who is calling You to Himself.
It’s my prayer – and has been for some time – that God will meet us as we lay aside everything else that has been a source of satisfaction or worth or status in our lives, and seek Him as the TRUE source from which all fulfillment, all meaning, and all LIFE come.
Hebrews 1:3
He (Jesus) is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.
PRAYER:
Father, we need Your help even to seek You. So many things vie for our attention and sadly, have won it. We confess that. It is our state of being most of the time.
Help us to break free of every thing that keeps us distracted so that, during this season of seeking, we can see the radiance of Your glory in Jesus. Show us afresh how worthy He is, how superior to everything He is, and give us the humility and sense of wonder we need to continue seeking You even when this season of seeking is over.
