SPIRITUAL HEALTH SURVEY
Throughout history, God’s people have come together for focused seasons of prayer and fasting. These times are set apart for seeking God’s presence, confessing and repenting of sin, and receiving His cleansing, direction, and clarity regarding their part in advancing His Kingdom.
From September 13th- October 17th, 2026 the Pastors and Elders of GracePoint are calling on the church family to engage with us in this kind of focus.
For 35 days, we will pray and fast to reorient our attention and affections toward God. Use the Scripture prompts and resources below to prompt your daily prayers. Use this season to ask God to do His work in your life, to reveal your assignment as part of the GracePoint family, and to reveal to all of us how we are to spread the good news of Jesus to the community around us.

Prayer Points
Sunday
- Lead each of us to put Your Kingdom first in our practical, daily priorities. (Matthew 6:33)
- Reveal our need for you, Jesus – individually and as a church family (John 15:5)
- Give us hunger for Your word, reveal Yourself as we read it, empower us to apply it. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Monday
- Lord, teach us to pray dependently and powerfully. (Philippians 4:6-7)
- Teach us how to walk in the Spirit day to day, in all circumstances. (Galatians 5:16)
- Reveal the gifts Your Spirit has provided to each of us and open doors for us to use them. (1 Peter 4:10-11)
Tuesday
- Unite us and make love a hallmark of our church family. (Ephesians 4:1-3)
- Lead us into maturity through spiritual growth, that we may become leaders in the realms You’ve called us to (Colossians 1:28-29)
- Make us lights for Jesus in our homes, neighborhoods, and cities (Colossians 4:5-6)
Wednesday
- Teach us how to worship You in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24)
- Guide us in teaching our own children and grandchildren about God’s love for them, expressed through relationship with Jesus (Psalm 78:4)
- Give us an “open arms” perspective toward all who need a church home (Hebrews 13:2)
Thursday
- Lead us to needed repentance of sin and wrong attitudes & beliefs. (Proverbs 28:13)
- Deliver us from the power of the evil one and his schemes as we submit to You. (James 4:7)
- Empower everyone to prayerfully complete the “GracePoint Spiritual Health Survey.”
Friday
- As the Elders and Pastors consider the results of the GP Spiritual Health Survey, reveal the true condition of the GP flock. (Acts 20:28)
- Lead us into paths of righteousness, for Your name’s sake. (Psalm 23:3)
- Give us insight into Your calling for our church family, at this place and at this time. (Ephesians 2:10)
Saturday
- Give us Your love for the people around us and move us to serve them in times of need. (1 John 3:17-18)
- Give us divine appointments with people who need to know about Jesus, and the love to boldly engage in conversation with those people. (1 Peter 3:15)
- Teach us, day by day, how to lean on and live in Your power. (Ephesians 1:18-20)

Worship Gatherings will include orientation around our “Seek First” theme. Join us each week as we worship and seek the Lord together.
Drop-In Prayer Times
Drop by the Worship Center for a time of unguided personal or group prayer. Join with the people there, or pray on your own.

What is biblical fasting?
The ancient spiritual practice of fasting is a disciplined used to set aside normal activities for the sake of seeking God in a more intentional manner. A person can fast (refrain from engaging with) almost anything: food, electronic devices, entertainment, sexual activity, etc. The most common type of fasting is practiced in regard to food.
Read below about different approaches to fasting…
A partial fast is a spiritual practice where you abstain from certain foods, meals, or activities for a set period while continuing to eat in a limited way. Some people find that fasting from the areas that distract them from God the most (technology, entertainment, hobbies, etc.) is particularly helpful.
The purpose is to intentionally turn your attention away from physical desires and focus more fully on prayer, Scripture reading, worship, and dependence on God. Through a partial fast, you can seek deeper spiritual growth, greater sensitivity to God’s leading, and renewed devotion to Christ.
Intermittent fasting is the practice of switching between periods of eating and periods of not eating, according to a set schedule. Like other kinds of spiritual fasts, you can combine this kind of scheduling with prayer and other spiritual disciplines to draw near to or seek after God in a more concentrated way.
An extended fast is a spiritual practice in which you abstain from food for multiple consecutive days in order to seek God with greater focus, humility, prayer, and dependence. During an extended fast, the emphasis is not on creating intentional mental and spiritual “space” to listen to God, engage deeply with Scripture, and pursue spiritual renewal. Some Christians undertake a juice fast, consuming fruit and vegetable juices to maintain some nutritional intake, while others practice a more restrictive water fast, drinking only water and abstaining from all food; water fasts are generally more physically demanding and may require greater caution, especially for longer durations.
Because extended fasting can place significant demands on your body, if you have any medical conditions, are pregnant or nursing, or are taking medications you should consult your healthcare professional before beginning an extended fast. Should you engage in an extended fast, pay attention to signs of dehydration, dizziness, weakness, or other concerning symptoms and discontinue the fast if necessary. Wisdom, prayerful discernment, and appropriate medical guidance can help ensure that you fast safely and responsibly.
During our Seek First project…
Prayerfully decide on the number of days and the dates to engage in any of the fasting types above. You may even decide that fasting should not be part of your prayer focus. There is no “wrong decision” if you are led by the Spirit.
When deciding how long to fast, consider your prior fasting experience, medical conditions, and events happening in your life.
A common practice is to choose a limited amount of time: 3, 5, 10, or 20 days, for example. If you’re new to fasting, it may be wise to choose a shorter partial or intermittent fast. If you have experience fasting, a longer period may be appropriate.
In all of these, prayerfully decide… the Lord will make it clear!
Fasting September 13th-19th
This week we will fast for breakfast, wake up to 12pm. Each day will be accompanied with a daily devotion to read and reflect on.
Fasting September 20th-26th
This week for our prayer and fasting, we will be fasting from all screens during the morning hours (until 9am). When you wake up, avoid the urge to check missed text messages or phone calls, and instead, spend the quiet of the morning being still and reminded the He is Lord.
Fasting September 27th- October 3rd
The Elders will lead our fasting time this week by fasting one meal a day, Sunday through Saturday. Join us by choosing what meal you’re going to skip and focusing on prayer instead. Don’t forget to use the provided prayer points!
Fasting October 4th-10th
The youth ministry will be fasting for lunch this week. If you are able, we would love to have you join the student ministry as we seek the Lord. During the fast, it would be a time to focus on the Lord’s provision in our lives and to seek His will for us and for Gracepoint.

Kids Team Seek First Week
“First Things First”
A 7-Day Prayer & Fasting Journey for Kids Ministry Volunteers
The Commitment
We are asking all members of the GPKids team to participate in three ways:
✅ Fast from breakfast each day (or choose another meal if needed) – or for those who have experience fasting, make this a true all day fast or an intermittent fast if you’d like.
✅ Pray for 5 minutes during the time you would normally eat – we understand everyone is busy, but you’d normally be eating anyway, so take this time to really focus on prayer for what it is you are fasting for, seeking HIS word first in the big decisions and big things of your life.
✅ Read the daily verse and prayer focus – We have included a daily verse(s) and prayer focus with a simple “starter prayer” for each day of our fasting week to help you focus your heart and mind while fasting and praying. They are included below.
If you are unable to fast from food, or do not feel fasting from food is the right type of fast for yourself, please join us in fasting from something else such as social media, sweets, streaming, coffee, or another daily comfort that you feel is a sacrifice to give up.
We will end the week with:

DAILY DEVOTIONS
Day 1: Seek God First
- Verse: Proverbs 3:5-6
- Prayer Focus: Put Jesus first in our lives. Help us serve from a full heart, not an empty one. Increase our love for God.
- Simple Prayer “Jesus, help me seek You first this week and in every part of my life. Help me trust you and lean on you rather than on my own thoughts, wants, and ideas.”
Day 2: Dependence on God
- Verse: Philippians 4:19
- Prayer Focus: Remember that ministry fruit comes from God. Depend on Him for wisdom, patience, and strength. Pray against serving in our own strength.
- Simple Prayer “Jesus, remind me that I need You in everything I do.”
Day 3: The Kids We Serve
- Verse: Isaiah 54:13, Psalm 127:3
- Prayer Focus: Pray for every child who attends. Pray that children would know Jesus personally. Pray for protection, growth, and faith.
- Simple Prayer “Lord, help every child experience Your love and truth.”
Day 4: Families
- Verse: Titus 2:7
- Prayer Focus: Pray for parents and caregivers. Pray for struggling families. Pray for faith conversations in homes.
- Simple Prayer “God, strengthen the families represented in our ministry.”
Day 5: Unity Among Volunteers
- Verse: 1 Cor 12:12
- Prayer Focus: Pray for encouragement and teamwork. Pray against burnout, conflict, or discouragement. Pray that love would define our team.
- Simple Prayer “Jesus, make us one team serving with one purpose.”
Day 6: Growth and Calling
- Verse: Hebrews 10:24-25
- Prayer Focus: Thank God for each volunteer. Pray that people use their gifts boldly. Pray for new leaders to be developed.
- Simple Prayer “Lord, help me faithfully use the gifts You’ve given me.”
Day 7: Share Jesus
- Verse: John 20:21 and Romans 12:2
- Prayer Focus: Pray for opportunities to share Christ. Pray for Gospel impact through the kids ministry. Pray for lives to be changed.
- Simple Prayer “Jesus, use our ministry to help people know and follow You.”
This tool is designed to help you reflect deeply and prayerfully on your personal spiritual health… and to help us – the Elders and Pastors of GracePoint – to know the condition of the flock God has given us to shepherd (Proverbs 27:23).
By knowing the overall spiritual temperature of the flock, we can provide appropriate spiritual growth opportunities for the church family.
