Psalm 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God”

Have you ever met someone who unknowingly interrupts others in the middle of a sentence? Someone who is already pondering what they are going to say before the person they are talking to is finished speaking? Someone who is moving at 1,000 MPH?

Maybe you know someone like this well, or maybe these questions hit close to home because that “someone” is you.

When reading Psalm 46:10, it can be very easy for us to think “I already know that” and to quickly move on to the next thing. When we choose to not slow down, we miss the grace and the blessing that comes with these deep-rooted words.

TRY THIS – You’ve read this far, so try this application. Set your phone down, shut off your computer, do whatever you need to do to be truly alone with God for the next 15 minutes
(and fight the inner voice that says “That’s a long time”).

Be still, listen instead of speak, and be reminded that the God of the universe is fully in control.
