Psalm 47:8–9 

God reigns over the nations; God sits on his holy throne. The princes of the peoples gather as the people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God; he is highly exalted! 

We all know what it’s like to be a “fan” of a high-profile person. Maybe you were one of those “groupies” in high school who had the posters on your bedroom wall, collected every item, and went to every event of your selected favorite. And if you could have met them… wow, that would have been the BEST! 

Stop for a moment to realize that the God we are seeking is even higher than that. The NATIONS and people groups of the world answer directly to Him. There is no political leader or army that can oppose Him. Nothing that can or will stop His reign. 

And here is the best part: unlike that high-profile person you were taken with in High School, God is accessible to you. Jesus has made Him accessible (1 Peter 3:18). So, when you are seeking Him this week, set your sights high – where He is, seated above all rule and authority on the throne of the universe. Know that He honors those who seek Him with all their hearts by enabling them to find Him. 

Don’t give up friends. Keep seeking!
