Psalm 34:4–5 

I sought the LORD, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.

 I know we’re all adults here, but let’s admit the truth – life is pretty scary. 

Sickness, financial crisis, the global political chaos that seems to be reigning… it’s enough to make you want to hibernate in a cave someplace hoping that it will all blow over. 

Again, David serves as a great spiritual trainer by pointing out what we should do when the fears inherent in life are getting at us… seek the Lord. 

During this Seek First project, I hope you’re learning that there are many, many reasons to seek the Lord. There are just as many situations in which we should seek Him, too. Times when we are afraid are one of those. 

David says that when he sought the Lord, He delivered him from all his fears. Wow, what did that look like? How did it happen, step by step? We are not told. But we have the inspired testimony of David that God does that kind of thing. So… 

Are you feeling afraid for some reason?  

Seek the Lord and ask Him to deliver you. Look to Him and ask Him to make your face radiant and your heart unashamed. 

His word is trustworthy. Ask Him to do what He says he longs to do.
